These works are all original unique silver gelatin prints, created between 2005 & 2015 when I was lucky enough to have a darkroom at home.

They are either photograms; made by placing the subject onto photographic paper and exposing it to light, or luminograms; where the light is directed onto the paper using objects, stencils and reflective surfaces.

Some are a combination of these techniques and were produced by using an adapted DeVere 504 photographic enlarger, allowing a 3 dimensional object to be placed where the negative would normally be, light reflects around all sides of the item and is projected and focused in the same way that a traditional print would be made.

I thoroughly enjoyed creating these images, it was an opportunity to explore a fascination with light and shadows which has been with me since childhood.
